ICAI Cancels CA Practice Certificates Over Non-Payment of Fees
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently issued a notification regarding a list of chartered accountants whose membership has been cancelled.
This cancellation has been done under Regulation 10(1)(iv) read with Regulation 10(2)(b) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. These rules allow the authority to cancel a member’s Certificate of Practice if required conditions are not met.
In this case, the reason for cancellation is that the concerned members did not pay their annual fees for keeping their Certificate of Practice active.
Because of this non-payment, their Certificate of Practice has been cancelled with effect from 01 November 2023. This means they are no longer authorized to practice as chartered accountants from that date onwards.
