ICAI sends Notice to The Times of India for publication of derogatory cartoon: ICAI filed Complaint against publication of derogatory cartoon by Mr. Sunil Agarwal and Mr. Ajit Ninan in the Times of lndia dated 12th December, 2018 which made a mockery of the profession of Chartered Accountants. Complaint against publication of derogatory cartoon by Mr. Sunil Agarwal and Mr. Ajit Ninan in the Times of lndia dated 12th December, 2018. Dear Sir. Please refer to the cartoon under the category 'iToons' drawn by Mr. Sunil Agarwal and Mr. Ajit Ninan and published in the Times of lndia dated 12th December, 2018, which made a mockery of the profession of Chartered Accountants. lt is highly defamatory and derogatory that carried innuendoes lowering the image of the Chartered Accountants in the eyes of the public at large. It is extremely unfair and unjust to portray the Chartered Accountants in poor light which will create a negative impact in the minds of general public towards the profession of the Chartered Accountants. Such publication has caused irreparable loss to the prestige of this great Institution which is carefully built by illustrious visionaries of the profession. You are, therefore, hereby called upon to publish an unconditional apology for such publication. The same may be published within seven days from the date of receipt of this communication. Please take notice that the Institute will be constrained to take civil and criminal action against you as per law including but not limited to suit for damages and also recovery of costs thereto. Please acknowledge the receipt of this letter.
