ICSI Seeks Further Extension of CCFS 2026 Beyond August 31 Amid Technical Issues on MCA-21 Portal :

ICSI has urged the MCA to further extend CCFS 2026 beyond August 31, 2026, citing heavy filing backlogs and persistent technical issues on the MCA-21 V3 portal.
ICSI Submits Representation to MCA Secretary

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has issued a representation dated August 20, 2026, to Dr Pallavi Jain Govil, the honourable Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), seeking an extension of the time limit for the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026.
At the start of the representation, the ICSI greeted the ministry and showed its appreciation towards the ministry's efforts in introducing the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026 and further extending its time limit until August 31, 2026, considering the continuous difficulties faced by the stakeholders.
As per the updates, vide General Circular No. 03/2026 dated July 08, 2026, MCA had extended the due date for CCFS 2026 up to August 31, 2026.
The ICSI calls this move indeed progressive and stakeholder-friendly, as it awards defaulting companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) a valuable opportunity to clear their backlogs or pending filings. Through this scheme, companies have been provided the means to clear their pending compliances at concessional additional fees and other relaxations.
Stakeholders are widely thanking MCA for this opportunity. However, the ICSI drew the ministry's attention towards the growing practical difficulties being faced by companies and professionals in completing pending statutory filings under the CCFS 2026, as a large number of filings are involved, coupled with technical issues being experienced on the MCA-21 V3 portal.
Consequently, the ICSI has requested a further extension of the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026 beyond August 31, 2026. The ICSI has given the justification that "such extension would provide a reasonable additional window to companies to complete their pending compliances and would further the objective of the Scheme of facilitating voluntary compliance and reducing the burden of historical defaults" to seek this extension.
The ICSI further stated that this extension will help a large number of companies to regularise their statutory filings; this would overall improve the compliance position.
