The 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) is being organized at Bharat Mandapam Complex, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from November 14 to November 27, 2024. In association with this mega event, CBDT has established a Taxpayer’s Lounge in Hall No. 4. As part of this facility for taxpayers, this lounge is free for the public; however, all visitors need to buy an entry ticket for the trade fair, which costs Rs 80 for adults and Rs 40 for children.

The lounge, themed “My contribution in developed India, my income tax is my responsibility”, highlights the crucial role taxpayers play in building a modern nation. It aims to raise awareness about taxpayer services and educate individuals about their rights and responsibilities.

Tax Services and Assistance Offered

The Taxpayer Lounge offers various services and resources designed to simplify tax processes and educate taxpayers. As per information shared by CBDT, these services include:

  • Help with applications for PAN/e-PAN, Aadhaar-PAN linking, and PAN-related queries.
  • Assistance with e-filing, accessing Form 26AS (tax credit), TDS, and related e-filing queries.
  • Guidance on international taxation issues.
  • Support regarding faceless assessments and appeals.
  • Information on various taxpayer services, including the e-Nivaran grievance redressal system.

Special Activities for Children

The lounge also has a children’s corner, where they are introduced to taxation and civic responsibilities through various games, activities, and experiences. These include board games, virtual reality experiences, digital comic books, and interactive games like the Aaycar game.

The lounge also features entertaining events, such as street plays (Nukkad Natak), quizzes, drawing and painting competitions for kids, and magic shows, all revolving around taxation and nation-building themes.

The Evolution of the Taxpayer’s Lounge

Launched in 2008, the Taxpayer Lounge has seen tremendous growth. Starting from humble beginnings, it has evolved into a modern pavilion centered on taxpayer education and facilitation. It signifies the Income Tax Department’s commitment to enhancing taxpayer outreach and accessibility.

How to Buy IITF 2024 Tickets?

Tickets for IITF 2024 are available both online and offline. Online tickets can be purchased through the IITF website. Offline tickets are sold at select Delhi Metro stations or via the Delhi Metro’s Momentum 2.0 Delhi Sarthi application.

Delhi Metro has also made it easier to reach the venue, Pragati Maidan, via the Supreme Court Metro Station. Admission to the fairgrounds is available through Gates 3, 4, 6, and 10.

The Taxpayer’s Lounge at IITF 2024 serves as a center for informative and interactive learning, enabling citizens to understand their responsibilities as taxpayers while enjoying the vibrant activities of the trade fair.
