As we all are aware of the fact that, September 30, 2026, is the due date to file a Tax Audit Report (TAR) under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for the Assessment Year 2026-27 (Financial Year 2025-26), and the government (CBDT, Ministry of Finance) has not made any official confirmation regarding a deadline extension yet.

Consequently, the Income Tax Department has urged all taxpayers liable to file a tax report (Form 3CA-3CD or Form 3CB-3CD) to complete the filing process well before September 30, 2026, to avoid last-minute hustle, portal glitches, server downtime, etc.

Those who have already completed filing their tax audit reports can ignore this reminder. The tax department has also provided helpline numbers, i.e., 080-46122000 and 1800 103 0025, in case they face any issues or have any doubts or queries about the filing process.
