Income Tax Notifies ITR V and Indian ITR Acknowledgment Forms The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified revised FORM ITR-V or Indian Income Tax Return Verification Form and Indian Income Tax Return Acknowledgment Form (FORM ITR-Ack). ITR V: It is a one page verification Form generated on Income Tax Portal after filing but before verifying the return. Taxpayers can sign it and send it to Centralized Processing Centre, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru 560500. ITR Ack: It's a confirmation receipt generated once ITR is filed and Verified.

Verification of ITR Where ITR data is electronically transmitted and ITR-V is submitted within 30 days of transmission of data - in such cases the date of transmitting the data electronically shall be considered as the date of furnishing the return of income. Where ITR data is electronically transmitted but ITR-V is submitted beyond the time-limit of 30 days of transmission of data - in such cases the date of ITR-V submission shall be treated as the date of furnishing the return of income and all consequences of late filing of return under the Act shall follow.”;

ITR Forms released:

  • ITR-1: Released on 29th April 2025
  • ITR-2: Released on 5th May 2025
  • ITR-3: Released on 30th April 2025
  • ITR-4: Released on 29th April 2025
  • ITR-5: Released on 1st May 2025
  • ITR-6: Released on 7th May 2025.
These forms are used for filing Income Tax Return (ITR) for the financial year 2024-25. The due date to file an income tax return for the financial year 2024-25 is 31st July 2025 for non-audit cases and 31st October for audit cases. Make sure you file your ITR before the relevant date.
