The team reached the bank at around 11 am and began checking its records, financial transactions and tax-related documents. Officials are also examining large accounts, recent major transactions, loan documents and accounts that may appear suspicious.

According to sources, the survey was started following complaints about possible irregularities in the filing of forms and submission of tax returns by the bank. During the survey, officials are collecting important documents and evidence and questioning bank employees.

Income Tax officials said the action is a routine survey under the Income Tax Act. They said the team is checking the bank's accounts, tax records and other financial documents for any discrepancies.

Officials said the survey may take some time because of the large number of documents that need to be checked. They added that it will be clear whether there were any financial or tax-related irregularities only after the investigation is completed and the records are matched.
