According to the official notification of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023, interested and willing candidates are encouraged to apply for the positions of Fire Engine Driver (Erstwhile Fire Engine Driver Grade II) and Fireman (Erstwhile Fireman Grade- II). There are a total of 129 open positions for the aforementioned positions.

Qualification for Indian Navy Recruitment 2023:

In accordance with the official notification of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023, the candidates’ required qualifications are mentioned below.

For Fire Engine Driver (Erstwhile Fire Engine Driver Grade-II)-
Essential-

• The candidates must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognised board.
• The candidates must have at least three years experience of driving heavy vehicles and be in possession of a valid driving license.
• The candidates must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties and must have passed the test specified below:-

Height without shoe 165 cm.Provided that a concession of 2.5 cm height shall be allowed for members of the Scheduled Tribes.

• Chest(un-expanded) : 81.5 cms
• Chest (on-expansion): 85 cms.
• Weight (minimum): 50 Kgs

Endurance Test-

• Carrying a man (Fireman lift of 63.5 kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds)
• Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump).
• Climbing 03 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.

Desirable–

• The candidates should be familiar with the maintenance and operation of various types of fire appliances.
• The candidates should have experience having worked in a regular Civil/Defence Fire Brigade as a Fireman Grade-I or Senior Fireman.
• The candidates should have passed the general firefighting course of the Defence Institute of Fire Research, Ministry Of Defence, New Delhi or the Sub-Officers Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur or any other similar recognized course.

For Fireman (Erstwhile Fireman Grade- II)-

• The candidates should have passed Matriculation or its equivalent.
• The candidates should be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties and must have passed the test specified below:

Salary for Indian Navy Recruitment 2023:

Referring to the official notification of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023, the selected candidates will be paid a monthly remuneration in accordance with the position listed below:

• The selected candidates for Fire Engine Driver (Erstwhile Fire Engine Driver Grade-II) will be paid a monthly salary of Rs. 21700 to Rs. 69100.
• The selected candidates of Fireman (Erstwhile Fireman Grade- II) will be paid a monthly salary of Rs.19900 to Rs.63200.

• Attested copies of the CR Dossiers/ APARs for the last five years (attested on each page) by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary or equivalent.
• Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
• Integrity Certificate.
• A statement of major/minor penalty, if any imposed on the officer during the last ten years.
• Cadre Clearance Certificate.
• Self-Attested Copies of certificates/marks sheet in support of educational/technical/Other qualifications. Original certificates/marks sheets should be produced when asked for.
• 04 recent passport-size photographs (not more than 03 months old and the date must be clearly printed on the photograph) duly attested on the reverse should be pinned with the application.

Selection Procedure for Indian Navy Recruitment 2023:

Referring to the official notification of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023, the selection of tentatively selected candidates will be strictly based on merit position based on performance/assessment/Physical Endurance Test, subject to satisfactory Document Verification, Medical Examination, and other requirements as specified by the Government of India and Appointing Authority.
