MCA21 V3 Portal Down! Urgent System Upgrade Causes Temporary Shutdown
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has officially informed that the online portal called MCA21 V3, which is generally used by businesses to file their official company documents and forms, will be temporarily unavailable for 5 days beginning on July 9, 2025 (12:00 AM), until the end of July 13, 2025 (11:59 PM). The reason behind this action is that the system is being upgraded and new types of forms are being implemented to make the service better.
As the system will not work during this period at all, businesses will not be able to submit or resubmit any forms via the MCA21 V3 Portal. If businesses do not perform their required filing by July 09, 2025, they might suffer some consequences, such as penalties or rejection of their forms later. Hence, businesses are recommended to carefully plan their compliance work and ensure they complete all their form submissions before the downtime.
Key Highlights:
Users must take the following essential steps before the MCA21 V3 portal becomes temporarily unavailable from July 9 to July 13, 2025:
Complete Pending Filings:
All users should make sure they have completed all their pending form filings and resubmissions on the MCA V3 portal before July 9, 2025. Meaning, if there is any form available that is currently in draft, under correction, or awaiting submission. Since the portal will be completely unavailable during the 5 days, users will not be able to access or file anything during that time. If filing will not be completed before the downtime, users may suffer penalties, delayed approvals, or outright rejections of submissions.
Update User Accounts:
Users are recommended to update their user accounts on the V3 portal. Individuals who are using the older version of the portal, i.e., V2, must either create a new business user ID, upgrade their existing V2 ID, or merge the old ID into the new version, i.e., V3. This is significant because the new version of Portal every time asks for a valid business user ID for performing all actions. Moreover, users must ensure that their Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) are properly associated with their V3 account.
Test DSC Functionality:
In the end, users are advised to check their DSC functionality before the downtime. Meaning checking that the DSC is recognised by the portal and works properly when signing documents. DSCs can sometimes expire, have software issues, or be improperly configured. If these issues are discovered too late, users may not be able to file critical forms on time. Therefore, it’s important to plug in your DSC, try using it on the portal, and verify that it works without errors. If problems are found, there should be enough time to fix them or contact support.
