Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought Online Applications from the Candidates meeting Eligibility for the Assistant Mining Engineer Post in the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines vide the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification. According to the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, there are 34 Vacancies inclusive of 16 Posts earmarked for the Open Market/Un-Reserved Category Candidates. Based on the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, all Eligible Candidates with Desire should complete the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) Process up to the Closing Date 13th April 2023 (13.04.2023) following the Instructions prescribed therein.
Based on the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification the Assistant Mining Engineer Post is to be filled up under Pay Scale Level 07 (Rs.44900- 142400) of the Pay Matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission in the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines.
Note-I: As per the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, while completing the Online Application Process for Assistant Mining Post, all the Eligible Desirous Candidates must furnish their respective Qualifications and Experience in the appropriate/relevant Field(s) over and above the Minimum Qualifications in Online Recruitment Applications available on the UPSC ORA Link. *The Candidates should also read in the subsequent Part of the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Notification to know more in detail.

As per the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Notification, Post-Selection those selected as Assistant Mining Engineer shall be issued Appointment under the Pay Matrix Level 07 hereinunder:

As per the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, following Category-wise and Reserved Community-specific Age Limits are prescribed:
1) The Un-Reserved Applicant should not exceed (Maximum) 30 Years as on the Closing Date 30.03.2023.
2) The Upper Age Limitation remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
3) For Age Concessions applicable to some other Categories of Applicants, do refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the “Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection” of the UPSC issued Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.
The Eligibility comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience essential as per the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification for the Applicants are as follows:
Essential Qualification(s):
Willing Candidates with Eligibility should have the Eligibility comprising the Educational Qualifications and Mandatory Experience narrated hereunder:
Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Experience: 02 Years’ Experience in Core Mining Activity in
I) Supervisory Position in Metalliferous (Non-Coal) Mines including the Period as Graduate or Management or Junior Trainee Engineer (JTE); Or
II) Government Department dealing with Mines and Minerals in Level 06 in the Pay Matrix (Rs 35400-112400) or above.
Desirable Qualification(s): Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from any duly Accredited University/Institution.
Note: The Qualifications and the Qualification in regard to Experience in case of Candidates otherwise well-qualified, are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission.
Based on the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification issued, the Union Public Service Commission shall carry out the Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria also explained hereunder:
Recruitment Methodology:
In the event of the Applications received relatively in a large number from Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria to restrict the number to only Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:
a) “Based on the Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.
b) On the basis of Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Notification.
c) Based on Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Advertisement.
d) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.
e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
Note-II: Important Points:
Viva-voce/Personality Test carries Total 100 Marks explained hereunder:
i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as hereunder:
a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks
b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks
c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks
d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.
ii) In cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.
Following is the Category-wise Application Fee and Payment Gateway for remittance by the Applicants:
I) The General Category/EWS/OBC Candidates shall have to pay the Application Fee Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five only) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India in Cash or by using the Net-Banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card Payment Gateway.
II) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempted from payment of the Application Fee.

v) Upload Self-attested Documents on the UPSC Online Registration of Application.
vi) Remit the Application Fee Online through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking, etc.
