For programmes including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and BSc nursing, the National Eligibility cum Entrance, also known as NEET UG, is the nation’s largest medical entrance exam.

The Level of competition in NEET 2023 is very high as every year, more than 16 lakh students appear for the exam for 91,415 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, and 525 BVSc and AH seats including 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER seats available in the medical and dental colleges. When students start preparing, they usually start off with a study planner customized as per their daily schedule while managing their classes, board exam preparation as well as NEET exam preparation. The most important question that arises here is how much time to dedicate to NEET exam preparation.

According to experts, students should set aside time and dedicate their concentration to studying for their board exams first. They might begin studying for the NEET exam when the board exams are over. However, as NCERT is included in the 80% of the syllabus for NEET as well, you can set aside 1-2 hours to study for NEET while studying for board examinations.

How Many Hours To Study Everyday For Qualify NEET 2023?

After board examinations, one needs to dedicate at least 12 to 15 hours every day to studying for the NEET exam. The points listed below can help you organize your NEET study schedule.

  • Beginning early in the day as early as 5 a.m. You will spend this part of the day studying subjects that need your whole attention, potentially more tough or difficult subjects. Continue studying for another 1-2 hours, taking 5-minute breaks every hour.
  • Take a break for about an hour to complete your morning ritual.
  • Start studying a subject that takes a lot of time at 10 in the morning and keep going until 1 in the afternoon. Do not take breaks during this time period.
  • You have up to two hours after finishing your morning study session to take a long lunch break.
  • Once your break is over, you can fully concentrate from 3.30 to 4 pm till 6.30 to 7 pm. You may catch up on things that are simple to understand right here. Alternately, you can solve some old papers by simulating an exam and solving papers. Try to answer at least 90 MCQs in a day within the allotted period.
  • You can then eat dinner and resume studying for the following two hours. You can study the simple subjects here and take a 10-minute break.
  • You will spend the final two hours of the day studying after the break. The topics, revisions, and activities with the least amount of work will be included in this time frame.
  • The final and most crucial piece of advice is to get enough rest because your brain needs time to unwind and get ready for the next day.
  • Do not let social media browsing, hanging out with friends, or other extracurricular activities divert your concentration. Keep in mind your desired NEET score and Top Medical College, and strive to get it.
  • You have up to two hours after finishing your morning study session to take a long lunch break.
