New Education and Training Scheme of ICAI to be launched by President Draupadi Murmu

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will introduce a new education and training programme for CA courses on July 1st. The new curriculum will be unveiled by President of India Draupadi Murmu during an event commemorating the 75th Chartered Accountants’ Day. CA. Aniket Sunil Talati (President, ICAI) and CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal (Vice-President, ICAI) will also be present.

The curriculum, Transition Scheme, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will be hosted on July 1, 2023. The paper-by-paper exemption strategy will be disclosed in due time. There will be new courses in prosecution, psychology, philosophy, and Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain under the new programme. ICAI adding above mentioned new-generation topics with the aim to make the CA aspirants future-ready. The new scheme’s curriculum is based on National Education Policy and current requirements such as artificial intelligence, forensic auditing, and startups.

Exams for the new curriculum will begin in 2024, so that aspiring CAs who are presently taking the old course can complete their foundation, intermediate, and final exams this year.

ICAI CA foundation registration will be performed under the existing framework until today, July 1. ICAI will commence registration for the foundation course under the new scheme on August 2. Candidates can examine the details on the ICAI’s official website.
