New Leadership at ICAI: CA Prasanna Kumar D Takes Charge as ICAI President for 2026-27
CA Prasanna Kumar D from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has been elected as the Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the 2026-27 term. ICAI has now started its new leadership team and a refreshed plan that focuses on helping India grow and adopting new technologies.
CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, who served as the 73rd President for the year 2025-26, completed his term and officially passed on the responsibilities to CA Prasanna Kumar D on February 12, 2026. As the new president of ICAI for the council year 2026-27, CA Prasanna Kumar D took charge of the office on February 12, 2026.
During his leadership journey, he served as Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Branch from 2001 to 2002. Later, he played an important role in the Southern India Regional Council from 2007 to 2016 and became the Regional Chairman in 2013-14.
He is a well-known speaker who has delivered many lectures at ICAI seminars and conferences on topics such as bank audits, company law, ethical standards, industrial policies, and budget analysis.
Apart from his professional work, CA Prasanna Kumar D is passionate about sports. He is a skilled volleyball player and has actively supported and led several state-level sports organisations, encouraging excellence in sports along with his professional career.
