NIRDPR Recruitment 2023: The National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad is inviting online applications for the contractual engagement of 141 Young Fellows for the same project. The incumbent will provide specialized support to the GPs and communities in assigned Cluster areas for the institutional strengthening of the GPs, improving governance, and preparation of SDG-focused GPDP by application of participatory tools in the field. As mentioned in NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for the position is not exceeding 35 years as of 01.04.2023.
According to the NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, the tenure of the engagement of the Young Fellow position is one year for the present. The position may be extended on satisfactory performance of the incumbents, subject to continuation of the project and discretion of authorities. The essential criteria for the position include a master’s degree or 2-year PG diploma in any stream of social science from a recognized university/institution, proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, and soft skills including proficiency in MS Office and capacity for online training and reporting. The incumbent must also have the ability to read and speak Hindi. The Young Fellow must stay and remain immersed in the assigned Cluster area on their own arrangement and travel extensively in geographically remote GPs under the assigned Cluster. As per NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, the maximum age limit for candidates applying for the post of Young Fellow is 35 years as of 01.04.2023. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be considered as per Government of India norms.
As mentioned in NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates must have a Master’s Degree or a 2-Year PG Diploma in any stream of social science from any recognized university/institution. They should also have a minimum academic standard of 60% marks in Secondary (Class X) or equivalent examination; 50% marks in Higher Secondary (Class XII) or equivalent examination in any discipline; 50% marks at Graduation level in the subject of social science, and 50% marks at Postgraduate level in the subject of social science.
Essential Criteria
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is a must. Candidates should also have soft skills including proficiency in MS Office and capacity for online training and reporting. Reading and speaking Hindi is also necessary.
Desirable Criteria
Prior experience in the given field of work with communities will be an advantage. Local language proficiency will be given preference at the time of posting in any particular State or Union Territory.
As per NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Young Fellow will also provide Handholding Support to the GPs under the Cluster in organizing community mobilization through No-Cost Voluntary Actions, effective Gram Sabhas & Ward Sabhas, collection of Primary and Secondary data including GIS-based data, Situation Analysis, and preparation of Development Status Report by each GP under the Cluster.
The job also includes coordinating with Block administration, and line department offices pertaining to the Cluster of GPs, and obtaining their support in effective implementation of the planned activities under the Project.
The Young Fellow will provide Handholding Support to the Project GPs in adding exemplary values with a focus on human development, social development, ecological development, transparency, accountability, convergence, etc. They will also provide Handholding Support to the GPs in the application of the eGramSwaraj Portal.
The job requires extensive travel in geographically remote GPs under the assigned Cluster on their arrangement, to work with the community for at least 15 days a month for up to 7 hours a day and monitor the progress of the Project related activities to ensure sustained progress and quality of outputs and outcomes. They will also prepare and submit progress reports to the State Programme Coordinator and all others concerned as per the requirement of the Project.
The Young Fellow will discharge such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by authorities for the successful implementation of the Project. They will converse with the Panchayat Level Functionaries in the local language at the area of posting.
As per NIRDPR Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidate will be paid a salary of Rs.35,000/- (Rupees thirty-five thousand) per month, plus reimbursement of the cost of travel and subsistence on tour outside the Block.

The assignment is purely on a contractual basis, and no regular appointment at NIRDPR in the future is envisaged.
