No Form Shall be Accepted After 30th November; GSTN reminds to File GST TRAN 1 and 2

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified that the last date for filing of GST TRAN-1 and 2 is 30th November 2022 and no form shall be accepted after 30th November 2022.

A recent tweet by GST Tech stated that, “Don’t wait for the last-minute rush to file your TRAN-1/2 Forms. Please File today. The last date to file TRAN forms is 30th November 2022. No Form shall be accepted after 30th November 2022.”

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has reopened the TRAN window for taxpayers and announced that it will make filing easier starting on October 1, 2022, in response to the Supreme Court’s July directive to open the GST window for submission of transitional credit after four weeks.

While hearing a number of petitions in July, the Supreme Court ordered the government to open the GST system so that people may claim transitional credit for two months.

According to the Apex Court judgement, the GST portal will be accessible to all assesses for the duration of 60 days, from September 1, 2022, to October 30, 2022, in order to claim transitional credit. The benefit must be made available to all assesses in order for them to receive it, whether or not they have petitioned for it.
