Om Power Transmission Gets Relief in Rs 1.12 Cr ITC Case

Om Power Transmission Limited has received a favourable tax order from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, State Tax, Ahmedabad, relating to an Input Tax Credit (ITC) matter for the financial year 2022-23.
The tax authority had earlier raised an allegation that the company had wrongly claimed or availed excess ITC worth Rs 1.12 crore. The matter also involved a proposed interest and penalty amount of around Rs 89.22 lakh.
After examining the company’s reply and submissions, the tax authority found that Om Power Transmission had not availed any ineligible or excess ITC during FY 2022-23. The proceedings in the matter have therefore been dropped.
As a result, the company will not have to pay the alleged ITC amount of Rs 1.12 crore or the related interest and penalty of Rs 89.22 lakh.
The order was received by the company on September 21, 2026. The company said the order will have no material impact on its financial or operational activities, and no financial liability will arise from the matter.
