The positions require the candidates to be posted as competent persons in shift/general shift on drilling rigs of Ahmedabad Asset. Candidates who have E6-level executives qualification can also apply. The required experience is at least 5 years in drilling field operations with Q1/Q2 qualification. As per ONGC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the monthly compensation package/remuneration/emoluments for the position of Junior Consultant (E3) is ₹ 42,000 for the first year and ₹ 43,350 for the second year. The compensation package for the position of Associate Consultant (E4 & E5) is ₹ 68,000 for the first year and ₹ 70,000 for the second year. The compensation packages are inclusive of GST, which is to be borne by the consultant.

As per ONGC Recruitment 2023 official notification, to be eligible for the positions of Junior Consultant (E3 level) or Associate Consultant (E4 to E5 level) in ONGC Ahmedabad Asset, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling field operations. The required experience is specifically for retired ONGC personnel at E3 to E5 levels having Q1/Q2 qualifications.
In addition to these levels, E6-level executives can also apply for the positions. However, it is important to note that these positions are available on a contractual basis for a period of two years.

For the Associate Consultant (E4 & E5), the monthly honorarium is ₹40,000 for the 1st year and ₹42,000 for the 2nd year. The consultant will also be entitled to a monthly conveyance reimbursement of ₹13,000, a reimbursement for office at residence (Secretary, peon, etc.) of ₹13,000, and monthly charges on communication facilities of ₹2,000. The total compensation for the Associate Consultant (E4 & E5) would be ₹68,000 per month for the 1st year and ₹70,000 per month for the 2nd year, inclusive of GST which will be borne by the consultant.
As per ONGC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection criteria for the ONGC drilling consultants include a written test and an interaction/interview, with a total of 100 marks.
The written test will be conducted in pen-paper format and will have 40 objective type-multiple choice questions, with a total duration of 90 minutes. Each question will carry 2 marks, and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The qualifying marks for the written test will be 28 (out of the total marks of 80), which is 35% of the total marks.
Candidates who qualify the written test will be shortlisted for the interaction/interview. The qualifying marks for the interaction/interview will be 12 (out of total marks 20), which is 60% of the total marks. The offer of engagement will be issued to the selected candidates based on their overall merit. No TA/DA/accommodation will be provided for the written test/interview.
