The department showed gratitude towards taxpayers and tax professionals for helping them reach this landmark. And also requested all those who haven't filed ITR for Assessment year 2025-26 to file their ITR.
The department shared important information with the taxpayer: before filing Income tax return, you must verify data from AIS and 26AS. To facilitate further filings of ITRs, the due date has been extended by one day (16th September 2025).
The Income Tax Department had previously shared advice on how to fix the browser issues for the taxpayers filing ITR. The department, in a post shared on platform X, said that, “Having difficulty accessing the Income Tax e-Filing Portal? Sometimes, access difficulties with the Income Tax e-Filing Portal may arise due to local system/browser settings. These simple steps often help resolve such issues.”
Several taxpayers and individuals shared that they are facing problems in the income tax portal and they are not able to download the website. Answering the same, the Income Tax Department suggested taxpayers and individuals try again after clearing the browser cache or try using a different browser. And suggested they share their details along with PAN and mobile number at [email protected] in case they still face any issues.
