Physicswallah gets Income Tax Notice for Rs. 263.34 crore
Pursuant to Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI Listing Regulations, Physicswallah has informed that the Company has received an assessment order and demand notice dated March 16, 2026, under Section 143(3) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
Income Tax Department has treated the investments received during Assessment Year 2023–24 from investors, including SEBI-registered Category II AIF, as taxable income, resulting in a tax demand of Rs. 263.34 crore.
Based on its preliminary assessment, the Company believes that it has strong legal and factual grounds to file an appeal before the appropriate appellate authority.
