For the position of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR): (General), the educational qualification required is a graduation degree in any discipline or equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or a post-graduation/equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.

For the position of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR):  DEPR, a Master’s degree in Economics/Econometrics/Quantitative Economics/Mathematical Economics/Integrated Economics Course/Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute; or PGDM/MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute; or a Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/business/developmental/applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute.

For the position of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR): DSIM, a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; or a Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year post-graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; or M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years; or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Age Limit for RBI Grade B Recruitment 2023:

As per RBI Grade B Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for RBI Grade B is 21 to 30 years. However, there are age relaxations for certain categories as per the government norms. For example, candidates belonging to SC/ST category are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit, while OBC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to 3 years. Similarly, there are relaxations for ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, and others as per the government rules.

The RBI Grade B exam selection process consists of three phases: Phase-I, Phase II, and Interview.

Phase-I Exam Pattern:

Total Number of Questions: 200
Subjects: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning
Marks: 200
Time: 2 hours
Mode of Exam: Online
Phase-II Exam Pattern:

There are three papers in the Phase-II exam:

Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues (Objective Type) – 100 marks – 90 minutes
Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) – 100 marks – 90 minutes
Paper-III: Finance and Management (Objective Type) – 100 marks – 90 minutes
Note: There is a Descriptive Type Paper-II in English (Writing Skills) which is a Pen and Paper-based examination.

Interview:

Candidates who qualify for the Phase-II exam will be called for an interview. The interview carries 50 marks.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in Phase-II and the Interview.

Firstly, visit the RBI website and click on “Recruitment for the post of “Officers in Gr.’B’ (DR) General/DEPR/DSIM” given under ‘Opportunities@RBI’ >Current Vacancies > Vacancies. Secondly, register for the application by entering your Name, Contact details, and Email-id. After registration, a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the Reserve Bank of India Services Board, Mumbai.

Thirdly, click on the hyperlink “Online Application Form” on the advertisement page for filling out the ‘Online Application’. Fourthly, enter basic details and upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration in the online application form as per the given specifications. Fifthly, validate your details and save your application by clicking the “Validate your details” and “Save & Next” buttons.

Sixthly, proceed to upload a photo, signature, left thumb impression, and a hand-written declaration as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Documents. Seventhly, fill in other details of the Application Form. Eighthly, click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT. Ninthly, modify details, if required, and click on “FINAL SUBMIT” ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded, and other details filled in by you are correct.
