SC extends deadline for linking Aadhaar to phones, bank accounts, passports:The Supreme Count on Tuesday issued an interim order extending thedeadline for linkingAadhaarnumbers to bank accounts, mobile phone numbers, passports and other services indefinitely beyond the previous deadline of March 31 2018.

WhileAadhaarwould still be required for receiving government subsidies, it is not a necessity for tatkal passports.
