SC extends deadline for linking Aadhaar to phones, bank accounts, passports:The Supreme Count on Tuesday issued an interim order extending thedeadline for linkingAadhaarnumbers to bank accounts, mobile phone numbers, passports and other services indefinitely beyond the previous deadline of March 31 2018.
WhileAadhaarwould still be required for receiving government subsidies, it is not a necessity for tatkal passports.

The Supreme Court decision doesn’t mean that the government will not ask you link your Aadhaar with mobile number or bank accounts. It is possible that the linking process will continue and if you want you can go ahead and link everything to Aadhaar.
But there is no deadline anymore which means that you will not be punished in case you don’t link your Aadhar Card.
