SEBI Launches AI Calling Campaign to Promote 'SEBI Check' Tool
The Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced the launch of a new AI-driven calling campaign to promote the 'SEBI Check' tool and validated UPI handles. This initiative aims to make the investors aware of the SEBI Check tool and validated UPI handles on a pilot basis.
As per the SEBI press release, the campaign is being conducted in collaboration with Sarvam, which is a generative AI company. Sarvam builds AI models for Indian languages. Under this initiative, some selected investors will be reached out to through calls to give them information about the SEBI check tool, validated UPI handle and other queries.
To avoid any confusion, SEBI has also given the official contact number through which the investors will receive the awareness calls, i.e., 1600-313-384.
Earlier, the board had introduced the 'SEBI Check' tool and validated UPI handles on October 1, 2025. These tools allow the investors to verify the UPI ID, QR code and bank account information of SEBI-registered intermediaries before crediting the funds.
