SSC CGL 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Tier 1 exam dates of the Combined Graduate Level Exam 2024 on 08 August 2024 on its official website, ssc.gov.in. As per the official notification released, the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam is scheduled to be conducted between 09 to 26 September 2024. The exam will be organised across various exam centres across India.
The official notification says, “The Commission has decided to conduct the Combined Graduate Graduate Level Examination, 2024(Tier-I) from 09-Sep-2024 to 26-Sep-2024.”

The SSC CGL examination is every year conducted by the authorises to select candidates for placement to various ministries, departments and organizations of the Central Government. The SSC CGL recruitment fills up the positions of Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Assistant, Inspector (CGST and Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Assistant Enforcement Officer (AEO), Sub-Inspector CBI, Sub-Inspector Narcotics, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Tax Assistant etc.
According to the official statement, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has set the minimum qualifying marks for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. To be eligible, candidates in the General category need to receive at least 30% of the possible points. The minimum qualifying score for individuals falling into the categories of OBC (Other Backward Classes) and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) is 25%. To pass the exam, candidates belonging to any other category—such as SC (Scheduled Caste) or ST (Scheduled Tribe)—must receive at least 20% of the total points.
There will be four sections and a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam for 2024, which will be administered online and carry up to 200 marks. There is a 60-minute time limit to finish the exam. It is significant to remember that the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature, which means that the scores attained during this phase will not be taken into account for the ultimate selection.
Four major topics will be covered in the exam, English comprehension, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and general intelligence and reasoning. There will be 25 questions in each section, each worth two marks, for a total of 50 marks per section. As a result, the exam as a whole will count toward 200 marks. Furthermore, a negative marking method has been implemented with a deduction of 0.50 marks for each incorrect response. This is an overview:
