SCI Recruitment 2023: The Office of Registrar (Recruitment), Supreme Court of India (SCI) has called in Online Applications from the Candidates meeting Eligibility for Engagement into the Position Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates (LCRAs) on a Short-Term Contractual Assignment with Multiple Vacancies in the Supreme Court of India through this SCI Recruitment 2023 Official Notification Dated 09.04.2023.

According to the SCI Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, the Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates on a Short-Term Contractual Assignment Post has occurred with a Consolidated Monthly Remuneration Rs. 80000 (Rupees Eighty Thousand) only in the Supreme Court of India Willing Eligible Candidates may apply Online and complete the Online Registration Process within the Timeline stipulated therein. The Online Registration Process is already in progress. The Last Date in accordance with the SCI Recruitment 2023 Official Notification is 30.04.2023.

Note: The SCI Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement has mandated Engaging the Selected Candidates as Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates on a Short-Term Contractual Basis. Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate Engagement is Full-Time Assignment Purely Contractual in nature.

The Office of Registrar (Recruitment) will draw up a Panel of Suitable Candidates for engagement as Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates in the Supreme Court of India purely on Contractual Assignment initially on a Consolidated Monthly Remuneration of Rs.80000 Per Month for the Assignment Term 2023-2024.

Based on the Supreme Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, Contractual Monthly Remuneration is as follows:

Monthly Remuneration: Rs.80000 (Rupees Eighty Thousand) only.

Age Limit under Supreme Court Recruitment 2023:

Minimum 20 Years and Maximum 30 Years.

Eligibility Criteria in Supreme Court Recruitment 2023:

According to the Supreme Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Essential Eligibility Criteria comprising Educational Qualification and other Desirable Qualifications are explained hereunder:

Essential Qualifications:

i) The Candidate must have in possession a Bachelor of Legal Laws (LL.B. )/be a Law Graduate (before taking up the assignment as Law Clerk)/ having a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (including Integrated Degree Course in Law) from any School/College/University/Institution established by law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for enrolment as an Advocate.

Desirable: The Candidate must have Research and Analytical Skills, Writing Abilities, and Knowledge of Computers, including Retrieval of Desired Information from various Search Engines/Processes, such as, e-SCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.

Selection Procedure under Supreme Court Recruitment 2023:

Based on the Final Result, the Office of Registrar will prepare a Panel of Suitable Candidates for engagement as Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates in the Supreme Court of India Purely On Contractual Assignment initially on a Consolidated Remuneration of Rs. 80000 Per Month for the Assignment Term 2023-2024.

The Selection Process for the Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates comprises 03 Phases. The Recruitment Process shall be conducted in 03 Phases as follows:

Phase I: Multiple Choice-Based Questions, testing the Candidates’ Ability to understand and apply the Law, and Comprehension Skills explained hereunder:

03 Hours’ Examination Duration 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 01 Mark, with 0.25 Mark Penalty;

Phase II: Subjective Written Examination, covering Writing and Analytical Skills narrated hereunder:

3½ Hours (including 30 Minutes Reading Time: 180 Minutes Plus 30 Minutes) 300 Marks.

After assessment of the answers sheet of Part II, the Registrar shall prepare the Results of the Written Examination on the basis of the Combined Marks secured in Both Part I (100 Marks) and Part II (300 Marks).

The Office of the Registrar (Recruitment) shall prepare a List of the Candidates according to the Marks scored in Part I and Part II who are to be considered for the Interview, with Cut-off Score, shall be published on the Supreme Court Website.

Note: The Candidates qualifying both Phases for the Interview would be advised/asked to submit a Preference List of the Judges’ Offices in a sequence of their respective Choice under whom they intend to work.

Phase III: Interview Process:

i) Based on the Rank, the Candidate shall be shortlisted for the Final Interview at a Judge’s Office in terms of the Preference indicated. Any Candidate higher in rank shall be duly considered for a Judge from the top of his Preference List.

ii) The Office of every Judge, for the purpose of the interview, shall be allocated a proportionate number of the Candidates as per the Total Vacancies notified initially to select the Candidates for engagement by the Registrar/Registry.

iii) The Residential Offices in coordination with the Registrar/Registry shall arrange for an Online Interview of the Candidates with the Judge’s Office for which they have been shortlisted.

Application Fee for SCI Recruitment 2023:

Based on the Supreme Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Application/Test Fee Remittance Payment Gateway by the Un-Reserved Category Candidates shall be as follows:

Application Fee: Rs.500 (Rupees Five Hundred) only Plus Bank Charges, if applicable, through the Payment Gateway provided by United Commercial (UCO) Bank.
