Telangana DCTO arrested for accepting Bribe of Rs.2 Lakh The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) detained Sridhar Reddy, Deputy Commercial Tax Officer for State Tax for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs.2 lakh on Wednesday. The accused allegedly sought a bribe from a businessman in order to carry out his official duty of completing an audit of the complainant's firm for the financial year 2019-2020 and closing the notice filed against him. The ACB conducted the operation in response to a complaint from a businessman who claimed that the officer demanded a bribe to remove a notice against him. Following a chemical test, the ACB apprehended the accused officer and retrieved the bribe money. Further inquiry is underway.
