UCSL Recruitment 2023: Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), is seeking applications from experienced professionals to fill the positions of Assistant General Manager and Deputy Manager (Design) at Malpe in Karnataka State. For the position of Assistant General Manager (Design), the candidate must possess a degree in Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Naval Architecture, along with 15 years of managerial experience in a Shipyard/ Ship Design house/government department related to marine engineering of ship design/ Design of offshore installations and platforms/Plan Approval department of classification societies, etc. The candidate must also have hands-on experience in 3D ship design software and proficiency in AutoCAD. For the position of Deputy Manager (Electrical Design), the candidate must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering with proficiency in AutoCAD and ship design software like Tribon/Newpas Cadmatic, among others. The candidate must also have six years of post-qualification managerial experience.

As per UCSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidate for the position of Assistant General Manager (Design) will be responsible for leading a team of design engineers and draftsmen at the shipyard. The shipyard is engaged in the construction/repair of tugs, small to medium-sized fishing vessels, and other ocean-going ships for both domestic and export markets. As per UCSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidate will be required to prepare concept design drawings and details for business development, design, and the issue of drawings for small craft like fishing boats, pilot launches, etc., outsourcing of 3d modeling of the vessels as needed, verification of the drawings produced by the outsourced agency, managing design change requests, providing assistance to the site production team in respect of drawings, routing of piping, cabling, etc. for vessels, and liaising with ship owners, classification societies, statutory bodies, etc. The selected candidate for the position of Deputy Manager (Electrical Design) will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems of ships, preparation of Purchase Technical Specifications, Technical evaluation, and interaction with Business Development, Production Departments, and working with National Authorities, Classification Societies, among others.

Educational Qualification for UCSL Recruitment 2023:

Assistant General Manager (Design): Degree in Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Naval Architecture with minimum 60 % marks.
Deputy Manager (Electrical Design): Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University.

Experiance for UCSL Recruitment 2023:

As per UCSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the required experience for open vacancies is given below:

Assistant General Manager (Design): 15 years of Managerial Experience in a Shipyard/Ship Design house/government department related to marine engineering of ship design/ Design of offshore installations and platforms/Plan Approval department of classification societies, etc out of which at least recent 7 years should be as Team lead, with both technical and administrative functions in Design department itself.

Deputy Manager (Electrical Design): Minimum of 6 years post-qualification managerial experience for candidates with the required qualification. At least recent four years of experience should be in a Shipyard/ Ship Design house/government department related to marine engineering or ship design/ Design of offshore installations and platforms/Plan Approval department of classification societies, etc.

Salary for UCSL Recruitment 2023:

As per UCSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary for selected candidates is given below:

Assistant General Manager (Design): TE-5 Grade, 80000-220000
Deputy Manager (Electrical Design): TE-2 Grade, 50000-160000

Selection Process for UCSL Recruitment 2023:

As per UCSL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the post of Executives consists of two stages, namely PowerPoint Presentation and Personal Interview. The weights are assigned as 80% for Work Experience and 20% for Personal Interviews, making the total weightage 100 marks. Marks for work experience shall be awarded based on the relevance of experience to the post. The applicants who meet the eligibility criteria shall be shortlisted and called for a Personal Interview on the stipulated date. Depending on the number of candidates, a written test may also be conducted to shortlist candidates for the interview or skill test. UCSL reserves the right to modify the selection process.

The rank list for the post of Executives shall be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the selection process. In case multiple candidates secure the same marks, their relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age. The parameters for selection are subject to change, and the same will be notified before the commencement of the selection process.
