UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission has announced a written examination to be held on 6th August 2023, for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). As per the Official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2023, the five forces under CAPF viz. BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB will be filling 322 vacancies in total. The examination will be conducted as per the rules published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 26th April 2023. The eligibility criteria for the candidates are also mentioned, where the applicant must be a citizen of India, or with the consent of the Central Government, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, both male and female candidates are eligible for the post of Assistant Commandant, provided that they have attained the age of 20 years and have not crossed the age of 25 years as of 1st August 2023.

According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification interested candidates need to apply online on or before 16th May 2023 at 18:00 hours through the link provided on the official website of UPSC. Candidates need to fill in the application form and upload their recent passport-sized photograph, scanned signature, and relevant documents. The examination date mentioned above is tentative and subject to change at the discretion of the Commission. The shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the eligibility criteria and experience in the relevant field, followed by interaction to assess their suitability for the job. According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, UPSC Release the vacancies for the post of  Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF),

The Department wise vacancies are given below:

  • BSF 86
  • CRPF 55
  • CISF 91
  • ITBP 60
  • SSB 30

Hence, there is a total of 322 vacancies available.

Age Limit for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

As mentioned in UPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st August 2023. In other words, the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1998, and not later than 1st August 2003.

Educational Qualification for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per the Official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2023, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

Selection Process for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per the Official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2023, the selection process for an upcoming exam includes a written examination, physical standards/physical efficiency tests, medical standards tests, and an interview/personality test.

The written examination has two papers, and both papers have minimum qualifying marks. Only those who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I will have their Paper II evaluated. The physical efficiency tests include a 100-meter race, 800-meter race, long jump, and shot put.

Medical standards tests will be conducted only for those who pass the physical efficiency test, and appeals can only be made against the medical standards tests.

The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and interview/personality test.

How to Apply for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per the Official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2023, candidates are required to apply online for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2023, via the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website.

The OTR registration needs to be completed only once in a lifetime, and candidates who are already registered can directly proceed to fill out the online application. Modification to the OTR profile can be made only once after registration at the OTR platform.

Candidates have seven days from the next day after the closure of the application window of their first final application to make changes. Any modification other than to the OTR profile can be made from May 17 to May 23, 2023, once the application window has closed.

The Online Applications can be filled up to 16th May 2023 till 18.00 Hours.
