UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought Applications from the Officials for the Post Library & Information Assistant (L&IA) on a deputation (Including Short-Term Contract) basis. As per the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement, the Post of Library & Information Assistant On Deputation (Including Short-Term Contract) Basis is covered under General Central Service, Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial Post.
Based on the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement, the Library & Information Assistant On Deputation (ISTC) Basis Post is covered under Pay Scale Level 06 (Rs.35400 – Rs. 112400) of the Central Civil Services Revised Pay Rules [CCS (RP) Rules] in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission. The Cadre Controlling Authority should forward/recommend the Names of that Eligible Official with Willingness and that they could be spared immediately upon Appointment. As per the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification, candidates can submit the application within 60 days from the date of the publication of the advertisement.

Appointment nature: Deputation (ISTC) for 03 Years Extendable up to 05 Years on Year-to-Year Basis.
Recruitment Methodology: Deputation (Including Short-Term Contractual) Basis
Posting Location: UPSC Head Quarter, New Delhi
As has been notified in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification, the Maximum Age Limit for Appointment by Deputation shall not exceed 56 Years as on the Closing Date of receipt of the Application.
Maximum Age Limit: Not to exceed 56 Years
*There is No Provision of Relaxation in the Age Limit
As has been notified in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement, the Official subsequent to Selection as Library and Information Assistant shall be entitled to the Salary under Pay Scale 06.
Pay Scale: Level 06 (Rs.35400-112400)
The Pay of the officially selected Post-Appointment as Library & Information Assistant shall be regulated under the Provisions contained in the Department of Personnel & Training Office Memorandum (OM) No. 6/8/2009-Establishment(Pay-II) Dated 17.06.2010 as amended from time to time.
Deputation (Including Short Term Contract):
A) The Officials under the Central Government/State Governments/Union Territories/Semi-Government/Accredited Research Institutions/ Universities/Public Sector Undertakings/Semi-Government/Autonomous/Statutory Organizations:
i: holding Analogous Post(s) on a Regular Basis; Or
ii: with 06 Years’ Regular Service in Post in the Pay Level-5 of the Pay Matrix or Equivalent; And
B) Having in possession the Educational Qualifications and Service Experience
Essential Qualification: Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) from any Accredited University/Equivalent.
02-Years’ Professional Experience in any Library under the Central Government/State Governments/Union Territories/Universities/Accredited Research Institutions/Autonomous/ Statutory Organizations/Public Sector Undertakings
B) Desirable: Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from any Accredited University/Institute.
Appointment on Library & Information Assistant By Deputation (Including Short-Term Contract) Basis under Pay Scale Level 06 (Rs.35400 – Rs. 112400) of Central Civil Services Revised Pay Rules [CCS (RP) Rules] in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission.
Deputation Tenure: The Period of Deputation (Including Short-Term Contract) shall remain initially for 03 Years, which is further extendable as per the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) Guidelines.
