Waive Fees of Rs 1000 on PAN Aadhaar Link: PAN Aadhaar Link Deadline soon
As the due date to link PAN-Aadhaar is coming near, there is a demand for waiver of Non-Refundable Late Fees applicable on linking of PAN and Aadhaar.
The Due Date to link PAN and Aadhaar is 31st March 2023 and Late fees of Rs. 1000 is applicable on linking Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Aadhaar card. Now your PAN card will become in-validate if you fail to link your PAN with your aadhaar before the due date.
Many people say that if they are not required to file Income Tax Returns (ITR), PAN-Aadhaar linking is not necessary. But that’s not the case.
If your PAN is not linked with the Aadhaar Card It becomes Inoperative from 1st April 2023. If your PAN is invalid, you cannot file ITR, get a Tax Refund, access Financial Services, open a Bank or Demat Account, apply for Credit/Debit Cards etc.
Recently various professionals have opposed Late fees of Rs. 1000 on linking of PAN & Aadhaar.
CA Amit shah writes: When people ask him that is it important to link PAN & Aadhaar, he says, yes because it is sabka saath, sabka vikas.
CA Ravi Sutanjani writes that PAN Aadhaar linking fees is the most useless fees I have ever seen.
Some professionals are also criticizing this as an idea to increase direct tax collections.
There is a class of PAN holders who have never registered on the income tax portal, PAN-AADHAAR linking fees should be waived for them.
The fee of Rs. 1000 is a big amount for the poor section of society.
