West Bengal Govt Extends Deadline for Sales Tax Dispute Settlement Scheme

The government of West Bengal has recently issued a notification providing significant relief to the taxpayers under the Sales Tax Dispute Settlement Scheme.

As per the notification No. 395-F.T. dated 27th February, 2026, the due date for filing the application for settlement under section 5 of the West Bengal Sales Tax (Settlement of Dispute) Act, 1999, has now been extended to March 30, 2026.

The extension has been granted by the Governor of West Bengal using the power under Section 5(1) of the West Bengal Sales Tax (Settlement of Dispute) Act.

The extension will give businesses and taxpayers more time to submit their applications and clear pending disputes.
