What are PM Modi’s Seven Appeals to Nation amid West Asia War
On May 10, 2026, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi issued seven major appeals, such as avoiding gold purchases, prioritising work from home, conserving fuel, and more, to the nation to strengthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
PM Modi's Seven Appeals
The following are the appeals:
1. Prioritise Work From Home
Revive covid-era-like remote work, online meetings, and virtual conferences to reduce daily travel and operational costs.
2. Avoid Gold Purchases
Refrain from buying gold or jewellery for at least one year to prevent the outflow of foreign exchange.
3. Cut down on cooking oil
Reduce the consumption of edible oil by 10% for better personal health and lower the national import bill.
4. Conserve Fuel
Reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel by using public transport, metro rail services, carpooling, or electric vehicles.
5. Adopt natural farming
Cut down the use of imported chemical fertilizers and shift to sustainable natural farming.
6. Vocal for local
Prefer products made in India over foreign brands for everyday use like shoes, bags and electronics.
7. Avoid foreign travel
Avoid foreign travel for one year for non-essential purposes like foreign vacations and destination weddings, and opt for domestic tourism.
These changes in the lifestyle were suggested by the prime minister as a collective responsibility of all Indians, and he said that in these times of global uncertainty, every Indian has to act as a 'protector of the Rupee'.
