Whirlpool Settles Packaging Disclosure Issue, Pays Rs 50,000 Compounding Fee Whirlpool of India Ltd. has informed the stock exchanges that it has paid a one time compounding fee of Rs 50,000 to the Legal Metrology Department of Andhra Pradesh. The payment was made on June 10, 2026, under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, the Andhra Pradesh Legal Metrology Rules, 2011 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.

The issue was that certain information that is required to be printed on packages was not adequately displayed. The company has opted to settle the matter through compounding to avoid long legal proceedings and paid the prescribed fee. Whirlpool said it received the official receipt for the payment on June 10, 2026. The company also clarified that apart from the compounding fee, the matter will not have any material impact on its financial position, operations, or other business activities.
