Attention Taxpayers! Today is the Last Date to Verify Your Income Tax Return for AY 2020-21

If you have not yet verified your income tax return (ITR) for the previous assessment year, i.e., AY 2020-21, here is the last chance to do so. Today is the last date to verify your income tax return for AY 2020-21.

All income tax returns filed last year that are pending verification, either due to non-submission of ITR-V or e-verification, can be verified today. Furthermore, once the Income Tax Return has been authenticated, the tax department will complete these tax returns by June 30, 2022.

The ITR will be referred as a ‘Defective Return’ if it cannot be verified. Such an ITR will not be accepted by the tax agency until it has been verified. It could be assumed that you did not file a tax return for that year.
