Two IOCL officials arrested for Bribery case; remanded to CBI Custody

Two Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) officers arrested on corruption allegations in Maharashtra’s Nagpur and Gondia districts were remanded to CBI custody on Saturday, according to an official.

The CBI detained Manish Nandle, IOCL’s chief manager (Retail Sales), on Friday when he was taking a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a fuel pump owner to transfer ownership of the pump, he said.

According to the official, the accused official was produced in a special court and the CBI has acquired his custody until March 29.

Sunil Golar, a sales officer in Gondia, was also apprehended while collecting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a gas pump owner to allow the smooth operation of his business. According to him, the judge remanded him to CBI custody till March 27.

A manhunt has been initiated for the general manager (retail sales), N P Rodge, who has gone missing, he added.

The CBI took some property documents and some cash during a raid at Nandle’s apartment, while Rs.2 lakh cash and some property documents were discovered from Golar’s house in Gondia, according to reports.
