ESIC Recruitment 2023: ESIC Medical College & Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai has released a recruitment 2023 notification for the engagement of teaching faculty on a contract basis. They are seeking qualified candidates to fill the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in various departments such as Dermatology, Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, Radiodiagnosis, Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank. The total number of vacancies available is 26. As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the vacancies are reserved for different categories such as UR, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS. Walk-in interviews for these positions will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, and the advertisement will remain valid until December 31, 2023, or until the notice of closure is issued.
Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post applied for and fulfill the academic qualification requirements for the respective posts (Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor) as per the “Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions, 2022” as amended and applicable on the date of the interview. As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for candidates should not exceed 67 years as of the interview date, and they will receive consolidated remuneration in addition to transport allowance and DA on transport allowance. The academic qualifications required during the transition period are also mentioned for Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, with a relaxation of five years from the notification date of the relevant regulations.

As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the academic qualifications required for engagement as Teaching Faculty, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, vary depending on the specialty. The eligibility criteria are as per the “Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions, 2022” as amended and applicable as on the date of the interview to the respective posts. Additionally, during the Transition Period as per the eligibility criteria by NMC-TEQ 2022 under Table 4.A, the academic qualifications required are as follows:
Emergency Medicine: MD/DNB (Emergency Medicine) or MD/MS/DNB in General Medicine, Anaesthesia, Respiratory Medicine, or General Surgery, or Orthopaedics. The relaxation is extended by five years from the date of the notification of these Regulations.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation: MD/DNB (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) or MS/MD/DNB in Medicine with Diploma in PMR, General Surgery, or Orthopaedics. The relaxation is extended by five years from the date of the notification of these Regulations.
As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the maximum age limit for the contractual engagement of Teaching Faculty is 67 years as of the date of the interview.
As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the remuneration for Teaching Faculty in ESIC is as follows:
In addition to the consolidated remuneration, transport allowance with DA on transport allowance will be paid as per the rules.
The consolidated remuneration will be revised whenever there is a revision of rates of DA as per ESIC Hqrs. Office Memorandum no. Z-17/11/1/2007/Med.IV (Pt.file) dated 13.04.2022.
No private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection procedure for the engagement of Teaching Faculty in ESIC involves the following steps:
To apply for the teaching faculty position, candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format only. Any applications submitted in any other format or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Candidates must report for the interview on the scheduled date and time, and candidates reporting after the scheduled time will not be allowed to attend the interview process. ESIC reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage at its discretion. Any wrong declarations or submission of false information will lead to the cancellation of the candidature at any stage, and legal action may be taken. As per ESIC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the opportunity for appear in the interview given to the candidates is provisional. The joining of the candidates will be subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility conditions and the production of prescribed certificates in the case of reservation. Applicants must pay an application fee of Rs. 500/-, except for SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates& Ex-Servicemen, who are exempted from payment. The fee must be paid through a Demand Draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favor of ‘ESI Fund Account No.1’ on any scheduled bank payable at Chennai. The Demand Draft must be issued after the date of issue of the advertisement, and only the Demand Draft drawn on any Scheduled Bank will be accepted.
