Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023: The Government of India, Ministry of Defence has released an employment notification inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for various posts at ASC Centre (South) – 2 ATC and ASC Centre (North) – 1 ATC. Interested candidates fulfilling the requisite qualifications can apply for the posts of Cook, CCI, LDC, Tin Smith, Barber, Tradesman Mate, MTS (Chowkidar), Civil Motor Driver, Fire Engine Driver, Fireman, Cleaner, Vehicle Mechanic, Painter, and Carpenter.

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligible candidates can apply on plain paper duly typed or neatly handwritten in the prescribed format only. The application should be complete in all respects, along with a self-addressed registered envelope duly affixed with the appropriate postal stamps and requisite documents, duly self-attested. The details of the tentative vacancies for each post are provided in the notice, and the candidates can apply accordingly. Educational Qualification for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023:

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 official notification, the details of the posts, their number of vacancies, and the required qualifications are as follows:

ASC Centre (South)-2ATC:

(a) Cook: 2 vacancies (1 in New Delhi and 1 in Bangalore); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade. Desirable to have one year of experience in the trade.

(b) Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI): 19 vacancies in Bangalore; Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with a Diploma or Certificate in catering from any recognized institution. Desirable to have one year of working experience in catering as an instructor.

(c) LDC: 5 vacancies (1 in Jaigaon, 1 in Jalandhar, 1 in Kalka, 1 in Khaprails, and 1 in Mumbai); Qualification: 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University with English Typing @35 w.p.m on computer.

(d) Tradesman Mate (Labour): 109 vacancies in various stations (Dimapur, Gangtok, Jutogh, Khnumoh, Lebong, Leh, Leimakhong, Masimpur, Pathankot, Pattan, Sikhar (Masimpur), Tawang, Zangli, Ambala, Akhnoor, Babina, Bangalore, BD Bari, Bhuj, Chandi-mandir, Delhi, Delhi Cantt, Deolali, Jabalpur, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Mahajan (MFFR), Missamari, Narangi, Narian, Pithoragarh, Sri Ganganagar, Srinagar, and Udhampur); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from recognized board.

(e) Tin Smith: 8 vacancies (1 in Ambala, 1 in Amritsar, 1 in Gaya, 1 in Bikaner, 1 in Haldwani, 1 in Ludhiana, 1 in Ranikhet, and 1 in Pathankot); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in trade work.

(f) Barber: 3 vacancies in Bangalore; Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in trade work. Conversant with duties of the respective trade with one year of experience.

ASC Centre (North)-1ATC:

(g) MTS (Chowkidar): 17 vacancies (1 in Ambala, 1 in Bangalore, 1 in Dehradun, 12 in Mahajan (MFFR), and 2 in Ludhiana); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in trade work.

(h) Civil Motor Driver: 37 vacancies (1 in Jabalpur, 8 in Mathura, 20 in Pathankot, 2 in Bengdubi, 2 in Khaprails, and 4 in Kalka); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Institution with a valid driving license for both heavy and light motor vehicles. Should have at least two years of experience in driving motor vehicles.

(j) Vehicle Mechanic: 12 vacancies (3 in Bengdubi, 1 in Jaigaon, 1 in Khaprails, 3 in Missamari, 2 in Pune, 1 in Pathankot); Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in trade work.

(k) Cleaner: 5 vacancies in Kalka; Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in trade work.

Selection Process for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023:

As per the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2023 official notification, the scheme of examination for Group ‘C’ posts includes a selection process based on merit, comprising of a Skill/Physical/Practical test and a Written test. The selection to all Group ‘C’ posts will be made solely based on marks obtained by the applicants in the written test and subject to qualifying in the Skill/Physical/Practical test, as may be the case.

The written test will consist of four parts: Part-I (General Intelligence & Reasoning), Part II (General Awareness), Part III (General English), and Part IV (Numerical Aptitude). The duration of the examination will be 2 hours, and the question papers will be bilingual in English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.

The syllabus for the examination includes topics from the Matriculation standard in all four parts. The General Intelligence & Reasoning section will include questions on non-verbal type, analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving analysis, judgment, decision-making visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, and abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship arithmetical-computation and other analytical functions.

The General Awareness section will include questions on the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society, knowledge of current events, matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspects, and questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution and Scientific Research etc.

The English Language section will test the candidate’s understanding of the basics of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and its correct usage, etc. His/ her writing ability would be tested.

The Numerical Aptitude section will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, and the relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, use of Table and Graphs, Menstruation, Time and Distance, Ratio and time, Time and Work, etc.

There will be a provision for negative marking (0.25 marks for each wrong answer) in the written test for incorrect answers.
