19-year-old boy booked for faking his identity to evade GST
Amroli police have charged a 19-year-old boy, Sahil Dilip Sidpara, for impersonating Janak Dobariya (25) in order to evade paying GST on his sari trading company. Sidpara rented a store, but he accompanied the rental paperwork with a forged Aadhar card using the name Dobariya.
Amroli head constable Bhagirathsinh Ganshyamsinh received information that a trader in Kosad’s Gruham Icon Shopping Centre was fabricating his own identity.
State police raided the shop and questioned the accused about his identity. He told authorities that his name was Janak Dobariya and that he had rented the shop.
The individual also showed police with Dobariya’s Aadhar card. When authorities searched his pockets, they discovered a wallet with an Aadhar card bearing the name Sahil Dilip Sidpara.
On questioning, he told the police that he was doing online saree business through his web portal ‘singarr.com’. He changed his e-Aadhar card through the ‘Sejda.com’ PDF editor to Janak Dobariya since he did not want to pay GST.
He provided the bogus Aadhar of Dobariya when renting the shop. Police arrested him and took his mobile phone, computer, and other items, which he used to modify the card. Sections 419, 465, 468, and 471 of the IPC were cited to charge him.
