Tax Dept issues Reminder to Taxpayers: Link your PAN with Aadhaar by May 31st to avoid higher TDS

The Income Tax Department has reminded taxpayers to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar by May 31, 2024.

The reminder, posted on X (previously Twitter), emphasizes the necessity of fulfilling this deadline to avoid increased tax deductions at source (TDS).

The Income Tax Department used social media to warn taxpayers about an important deadline. The Tax department on his official Twitter account, posted and highlighted that if taxpayers fail to link their PAN with their Aadhaar card then it would result in an increased rate of TDS.

Tax Department wrote, “Kind Attention Taxpayers! To avail the benefits of CBDT Circular No.6/2024 dtd 23rd April, 2024, do remember to link your PAN with Aadhaar before May 31st, 2024. Here are the steps to be followed to link your PAN with Aadhaar 👇🏼”
