Income Tax Department Conducted Outreach Programme on Income Tax Act, 2025
The Income Tax Department recently held an awareness programme in New Delhi to explain the main features of the new Income Tax Act, 2025. The event was specially organised for schools and charitable institutions so that they could better understand the new rules and how they would be affected. Representatives from more than 80 schools across the Delhi-NCR region attended the programme. Trustees and other members connected with educational institutions were also present.
The programme has been graced by Ms Pallavi Agarwal, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions). In her speech at the event, she said that the new Act is meant to simplify tax procedures, reduce confusion, and make the system more transparent. She also said that the system will depend more on technology, making everything quicker and simpler. These changes are part of the government’s larger goal of building a developed India by 2047.
To make the event more interactive, an inter-school quiz competition called “Tax Your Brain, Income Tax Quiz” was organised for students of Classes 9th to 12th. Students participated actively and showed great interest. The winners were given awards and certificates, and all participants were appreciated for their efforts. Overall, the programme showed that the Income Tax Department is trying to connect more with people, spread awareness about tax changes, and make the system clearer and user-friendly.
