The Central Government issued a notification on 22 April 2026 from New Delhi, establishing the Online Gaming Authority of India under Section 8 of the Online Gaming Act 2025.

Govt Constitutes a New Online Gaming Authority of India; Check List of Members Included
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, under the Central Government of India, issued a notification on 22nd April 2026 from New Delhi. This notification is about forming the Online Gaming Authority of India.
Through this, the Central Government has set up the Online Gaming Authority of India. It will include the following members:

| 4 | Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting | Member, ex officio |
| 5 | Joint Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports | Member, ex officio |
| 6 | Joint Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice | Member, ex officio |
This has been done using the powers given under sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 8 of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 (32 of 2025).
