Central Government Issues Order for Inspector-cum-Facilitators Under Code on Wages, 2019

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued a notification recently, on 12th May, 2026, regarding the appointments of Inspector cum-facilitators.

Exercising the powers conferred under Section 51(1) of the Code on Wages, 2019, the Central Government has issued a fresh order for the appointment of certain officers as Inspector-cum-Facilitators. These officers will be empowered to perform the duties and exercise powers conferred upon them by virtue of Section 51(6) of the Code.

The Government appoints Deputy Chief Labour Commissioners (Central) as appellate authorities under the Code on Wages, 2019 and prescribes their jurisdiction for disposal of appeals relating to wages.

This new order replaces the earlier notifications issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment on March 6, 1990, October 17, 2006, September 30, 2014, and October 17, 2019. However, any actions already taken under those old notifications will still remain valid.
