AAI Recruitment 2023: The AAI Regional Headquarters, Eastern Region, has announced its intention to engage retired officials from the Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army, Indian Navy, PSUs, and AAI (Retired Ops officials) with experience in handling civil aircraft movement, to serve as Jr. Consultant (Operations) at airports in the Eastern Region, on a pure contract basis for a period of one year. The airports for which the consultant is sought include Bokaro, Burnpur, Campbell Bay, Car Nicobar, Cooch Behar, Dumka, Pakyong, and Shibpur.
As per AAI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the successful candidate must have at least five years of experience in a relevant field and be clear from a vigilance/disciplinary angle at the time of retirement, as well as being medically fit and not over 70 years old. According to AAI Recruitment 2o23 Official Announcement the candidate will be responsible for supervising the upkeep of the terminal building through the MESS contract, ensuring effective passenger facilitation at the terminal building, and coordinating with airlines, airport security, state protocol officers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth VVIP movements. They will also need to supervise all concessionaires at the terminal building, ensure hygienically and best service to be provided to passengers/visitors/VIPs, and carry out an inspection of terminal toilets/VIP lounge/SHA to ensure the upkeep of the terminal area. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for complying with instructions/circulars issued by CHQ/RHQ of AAI and coordinating with ATC for ETAs/ETDs to disseminate the information to the airlines and other stakeholders.

In terms of desirable qualifications, the consultant should have hands-on knowledge of aerodrome management, preferably in the field of air traffic management, airside management, and terminal management, specifically at civil aerodromes at Indian airports. Preference will be given to senior air traffic controllers who have experience working at AAI civil aerodromes.
As per AAI Recruitment 2023 official notification, for the position of Junior Consultant with a monthly remuneration of INR 50,000.

The candidate should be a retired PSU/AAI employee from E3/E4/E5 level and equivalent from IAF/Indian Army/Indian Navy officials/State or Central Govt./Paramilitary forces or reputed organization of having minimum 05 years of experience in relevant field.
The candidate should have hands-on knowledge of Aerodrome Management, preferably in the field of Air Traffic Management, Airside Management, and Terminal Management especially at Civil Aerodrome at Indian Airport. Preference will be accorded to Senior Air Traffic Controllers who have experience working at AAI Civil Aerodrome(s).
The appointment of the Consultant will be on a full-time basis, and she/he would not be permitted to take up any other assignment(s) during the period of consultancy.
The appointment of retired AAI Officials as Consultants will be made through advertisement on the AAI website, followed by an interview through a selection process of interview (personal interview/interview through VC) by Regional Headquarters, Kolkata.
