Bajaj Consumer Care Receives GST Demand Order for discrepancies in Input Tax Credit

Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. is an Indian company that makes and sells personal care products, especially hair care products. Recently, the company has informed the stock exchanges (NSE and BSE) about the receipt of a GST demand order due to GST credit mismatch.

The company received the GST order on July 8, 2025, from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax in Cuttack, Odisha. As per the order, there are some discrepancies in the Input Tax Credit (ITC) claimed by Bajaj Consumer. Due to this, the income tax department has raised a tax demand of Rs 27,23,684 along with a penalty of Rs 2,72,368.

The company, in its disclosure, clarified that there is no impact on its business operations due to this order. Additionally, the company will challenge by filing an appeal to the higher Appellate Level.

This disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the Securities Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
