The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced officially the eligibility requirements and application procedure for candidates wishing to appear in the Foundation and Intermediate Examinations, which are going to commence in September 2025. Here are some major points which require the attention of the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Check the eligibility criteria for the Foundation course and Intermediate course. Criteria for Foundation Course:
  • The candidate must have appeared in or have qualified the class 12 board examination from a recognised board.
  • The candidate must have registered for the course on or before May 1, 2025.
  • The marksheet or admit card of class 12 must be submitted on SSP.
Criteria for Intermediate Course: The candidate must have concluded 8 months of study by 1 September 2025, which points to the fact that the registration must have been completed on or before 1 January 2025.

SSP or Self Service Portal

The candidates are obligated to have valid login credentials on the platform of ICAI's SSP. The applicants who are new to the portal or facing any issues regarding access must immediately register or resolve issues at https://eservices.icai.org.

Course Registration Validity and Conversion

  • Intermediate candidates should be registered under NEWINT23 or CONINT23.
  • Foundation candidates should be registered under NEWFND23 or CONFND23.
  • If the course code that is being displayed on the student dashboard showcases an old version, students are directed to convert to the new scheme through the SSP (no conversion fee applied).

Signature and Photograph

The candidates are obliged to make sure that their photograph and signature are uploaded and meet the specifications by ICAI: Specifications for Photograph:
  • 80% of the face visible
  • White background
  • No selfies
  • Size – 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
  • 20-50 KB
Specifications for Signature:
  • On white paper with black ink
  • Size – 6 cm x 2 cm
  • 10-20 KB
Quality-compromised uploads may create hindrances while marksheet printing.
