CBI Arrest Assistant Labour Commissioner for Accepting Bribe of Rs. 25,000
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained an Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh). While demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant, the Central Bureau of Investigation detained an Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).
A complaint was filed against an Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Vijayawada, alleging that he demanded a payment of Rs. 30,000/- from the complainant in exchange for issuing his company a labour licence. The purported bribe was afterwards downsized to Rs. 25,000. When the accused demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant, the CBI set a trap and caught him in the act. Incriminating documents were found after searches were carried out at the accused's home and workplace.
Today, the arrested suspect is shown before the Special Judge for CBI Cases in Visakhapatnam.
