CBI Arrests Bhadu Sheikh Murder Case Accused in Mumbai:

CBI arrests proclaimed offender Masad Seikh in Mumbai in connection with the 2022 Bhadu Sheikh murder case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Masad Seikh, a proclaimed offender in the Bhadu Sheikh murder case, from Wari Bander area of Dongri in Mumbai. He was arrested on August 14 based on human intelligence and technical inputs.
Masad Seikh had been absconding since the registration of the FIR in March 2022. According to the CBI, he had neither joined the investigation nor appeared during the trial.
The CBI took over the case on April 8, 2022, following an order of the Calcutta High Court. The case was originally registered at Rampurhat Police Station in Birbhum district in connection with the murder of Bhadu Sheikh at Bogtui on March 21, 2022.
After completing its investigation, the CBI filed a chargesheet and supplementary chargesheets in 2022 and 2023 against nine accused persons, including Masad Seikh. The trial was later transferred from the court of the ACJM, Rampurhat, to the 4th Court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge in Purba Bardhaman.
The arrested accused will be brought to Kolkata from Mumbai and produced before the competent court.
