CBI Filed Chargesheets against 13 Accused in NEET Exam Leak Scandal

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed the first chargesheet on 1st August 2024 in the NEET paper leak case. The chargesheet was filed against 13 people namely Nitish Kumar Amit Anand, Sikander Yadvendu, Ashutosh Kumar (called Ashutosh Kumar-1), Roshan Kumar, Manish Prakash, another Ashutosh Kumar (called Ashutosh Kumar-2), Akhilesh Kumar Avdesh Kumar, Anurag Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Shivnandan Kumar and Ayush Raj.

These individuals face charges such as conspiracy to destroy evidence, breach of trust, theft, receiving stolen property, cheating and abetment under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The case began when it was first registered at Shastri Nagar Police Station in Patna on May 5, 2024. Then it was transferred to CBI on June 23, 2024. CBI used advanced methods like forensic analysis, artificial intelligence and reviewing CCTV footage. Analyzing mobile tower locations was also a key method. This was to gather evidence against suspects.

The investigation is not yet complete. CBI continues to look into other suspects and different parts of the case. Several people are already in police or judicial custody. As the investigation moves forward, CBI plans to file more chargesheets. So far 40 people have been arrested in connection with this case. This includes 15 initially detained by Bihar Police. CBI has also searched 58 different locations related to the case.

The investigation is ongoing on a daily basis and aims to uncover all details of the scandal. It is crucial to ensure all responsible parties are brought to justice.
