DGFT notifies the date for electronic submission of RCMC or RC via Common Digital Platform

With effect from December 6, 2021, the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) published a Trade Notice regarding the electronic filing of Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) or Registration Certificate (RC) using Common Digital Platform.

A new online shared digital platform for the issue of Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC)/Registration Certificate (RC) has been developed, providing all exporters/importers and issuing agencies with a single point of access. The provided platform will be accessible via https://dgft.gov.in.

The platform’s goal is to provide an electronic, contact-free single window for RCMC/RC-related processes such as Application for Fresh/ Amendment/ Renewal of RCMC/ RC. Applications for RCMC/RC will be accepted through the shared platform beginning December 6, 2021.

Submitting applications on this online portal would not be necessary for exporters immediately, and there will be a transition period for issuing agencies and exporters to join this single digital platform. During this transition period, the present procedure of submitting applications directly to the designated issuing agency will continue to be in effect. The submission and issuance of RCMC/RC through the issuing agencies’ systems may continue until February 28, 2022, or until further instructions are issued.

By logging into the exporter profile on https://dgft.gov.in, the legitimacy of the online issuance can be verified. The details for RCMC/RC issued through the DGFT portal will be reflected instantaneously in the exporter’s profile.

Concerning the process being notified, interested Indian exporters should be aware that a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)/Aadhar would be necessary for the purpose of electronic application filing. The digital signature would be the same as used in other DGFT apps, and there would be no need for a separate registration to utilise the RCMC/RC service via the DGFT Portal. Previously registered exporters/importers can use the same login credentials to access the service.
