East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023: East Coast Railway has issued an employment notice to recruit Indian nationals who are active members of Bharat Scouts & Guides against Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2022-23. As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the vacancies available are one for Group-C and one for erstwhile Group D posts at ECoR Hqs and KUR in Level-2 (GP ₹ 1900/-) and Level-1 (GP ₹ 1800/-) respectively. Candidates can apply for both posts separately and in separate envelopes. The selection for the posts having Pay of Level-2 and Level-1 will be conducted separately, and a separate examination will also be conducted. Candidates who apply against this quota and belong to SC/ST/OBC categories will be extended relaxation in age limit as admissible in general open market recruitment.
As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates applying for Scouts & Guides Quota should hold the following qualifications: a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section, should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years, and should have attended two events at National level or All Indian Railways’ level and two events at the State level. They should also possess requisite academic qualifications. Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400/- refundable for candidates who appear in the written examination) except for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities, and Economic Backward Classes, whose family income is less than Rs. 50,000/- p.a.
As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the closing date for submission of applications is 17th May 2023 (1st June 2023 for residents of Andaman, Nicobar & Lakshadweep), and the tentative date for the examination is in the first week of June 2023. Candidates must adhere to the eligibility norms and age limit specified in the notification. Age relaxation is permissible as per extant rules. The application fee must be submitted in the form of a Demand Draft / Pay Order from any Nationalized Bank or crossed Indian Postal Order from any Post Office (issued on or after the date of this notification) drawn in favor of “Principal Financial Adviser, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar”.

As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for Group-C posts is 18-30 years for UR, 18-33 years for OBC, and 18-35 years for SC/ST, as of 01.07.2023. For Erstwhile Gr.D posts, the age limit is 18-33 years for UR, 18-36 years for OBC, and 18-38 years for SC/ST, as of 01.07.2023.
As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility norms for recruitment of Scouts & Guides to posts in Level-1 and Level-2 require candidates to have scouting/guiding qualifications such as being a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge holder, and to have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years.
Additionally, candidates must have attended two events at the National level OR All Indian Railways’ level and two events at the State level. Educational qualifications are also required, and candidates must possess the requisite academic qualification on the date of submission of the application, such as 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination for Level-2 and 10th standard or ITI or equivalent for Level-1.
As per East Coast Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, to apply for the recruitment, candidates need to submit the application fee in the form of a Demand Draft/Pay Order or crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of “Principal Financial Adviser, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar”.
The application fee for all candidates except those mentioned in a specific category is Rs. 500/-, and the fee for SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities, and Economic Backward Classes whose family income is less than Rs. 50,000/- per annum is Rs. 250/-. Candidates need to enclose the certificate of proof of eligibility while submitting the application form. The application fee will be refunded to those who actually appear in the written examination.
