GHCL gets GST Notice for alleged Rs.1.08 Crores excess ITC Claim for FY 2020-21

The Superintendent of CGST and CX, Range IV, Ballygunge Division, Kolkata South Commissionerate issued a GST scrutiny notice to GHCL Limited on October 24, 2024, for the financial year 2020-21, as stated in the stock filing.

The department of GST alleged in the notice that the global chemical and textile company filed an excess claim of Rs.1.08 crores for input tax credit and directed the company to make a response within 15 days of receiving the scrutiny notice, the notice stated.

The company stated in the stock filing that “No impact on the Company’s financials except the amount of ITC discrepancy, if any.”

The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations 2015.

GHCL India is a leading manufacturing company for Industrial Salts and Soda Ash in India and was incorporated in 1983. The Soda Ash the company produce is used to make glass and detergents apart from other industrial applications and is an important raw material for solar glass and lithium-ion batteries as well.

The shares of GHCL India were opened trading at Rs.565.40 on the NSE today.
